TUESDAY with ETHICS CASE STUDY-21 Nov,2017

You are in charge of the rescue operations in an epidemic hit area, commanding a team of 6 medical professionals. The area is located remotely and not well connected with the nearby town through roads. It takes around 24 hours to reach the nearest district hospital, which has the required vaccines and drugs. Thousands of people have died because of the disease. The disease is contagious, though it gets transmitted only through bodily fluids and not through air.

However, one of your team members has fallen sick and his condition is critical. Moreover, the team does not have the required drugs to treat him. Your team members request you to call off the operation as they are scared of the disease and want to take back the sick team-member to the hospital. At the same time, media has been portraying your efforts in a negative light.
