    Culture is way of life and multiculturalism is the notion which tells that there is many ways of life which is embedded to day to day life of people. It is a recent development and can be described as descriptive as well as normative.
    Multiculturalism is closely related with identity politics-the politics of difference and the politics of recognition. It demand that the culture and cultural groups that are accommodated individual identity.
    Equality in conventional political philosophy is treated as sameness. Equality means to treat people equally irrespective of colour, caste, race etc. But multiculturalism considers equality as difference. They define equality as recognition of difference.
    In multiculturalism, every individual has the freedom to express one’s identity and culture. Minority has rights to propagate their interests.
    As the matter of facts, Multiculturalism rejects the traditional notion of equality, politics, universal citizenship, democracy, notion of individual and reformulates it s assumptions on these notions.
